Adèle Mildred is a Franco-American artist and muse living and working in London.

At eighteen Adèle fled the American Midwest to study dress-making and spent a decade in California as a ‘Jill of all (creative) Trades’ – working as graphic designer, clothing designer, art director, costumier, celebrity tailor and visual artist.

Adèle moved to London in 2008 to train as a milliner under the direction of Stephen Jones. Within a year she was at the head of his couture atelier, working with designers including Marc Jacobs, Raf Simmons, Giles, John Galliano and Bill Gaytten.

In 2013 Adèle shifted her focus back on her own work. She illustrated Your Beauty Mark and various other projects for Dita Von Teese and has collaborated with notable brands including Charlotte Olympia, Burberry and Kat Von D Beauty. In 2015, with fellow milliner Gabrielle Djanogly, Adèle founded HOOD, an online boutique platform showcasing and supporting London milliners. In 2019 HOOD became a luxury hat label designed exclusively by Adèle and Gabrielle.

Adele now lives in South London designing hats, sunglasses, and painting peculiar nudes, while raising two children with her photographer husband David Edwards.
